Photo Diary – A Relaxing Week in Paris & Versailles

I cannot believe the summer has already ended. It has gone incredibly fast yet somehow second year of university feels like a life time ago. In fact, I’m finding it quite strange to be writing this post back in Falmouth!! But lucky for me, I managed to squeeze one last trip in before returning to Cornwall. I spent the first week of September in Versailles celebrating my friend Xavier’s birthday. It was such a treat for me as I was looked after like a princess by him and his family, big love for them. We spent most of our time in Paris eating, drinking and exploring though did dedicate a few days to Versailles and relaxing in the sun… my ideal holiday in a nutshell.

Parisian architecture is very beautiful and wandering around the city centre was probably my favourite part of the trip. I especially liked the Louvre but unfortunately didn’t end up going inside because there was so much to do. We did relax in the gardens for an afternoon though and had the most delicious sorbet of life. We went to see the Notre Dame and took tourist pictures outside (obviously) and had a quick look inside too. The weather that week was perfect, around 28℃ most days.

My last evening was spent in a creperie in Versailles with Xavier and a school friend of his. I had savoury potato, smoked salmon, cream and lemon crepe to start and a pear, chocolate and ice cream crepe to finish… heaven in my mouth. I was so sad to go home and not just because I love Paris but because It meant the end of the summer. Looking back I think I could definitely live in Paris one day. It is so close to London and my family thanks to the Eurostar, the food is amazing, the nightlife amazing and the people are all very friendly (unlike the stereotype suggests). Plus the street style was so inspiring, very chic and simple. Maybe this is something to consider for after uni, since I have now begun my final year!!
