15 Breathtaking Pictures of Croatia: Summer Travel Inspiration

Croatia has been on my bucket list since season 1 of Game of Thrones. I remember seeing straight past the grime of Dubrovnik as Kings Landing. My inner traveller was distracting me massively from the story line! Instead my attention was on the narrow winding streets, intense tiled roofs and the crystal clear sea. The city was just so mysterious and old. But it has been five years since I started watching the series and somehow, I still haven’t travelled to Croatia! So in this post I thought I’d gather some summer travel inspiration for you guys and myself – here are 15 breathtaking pictures of Croatia that will make you want to book a holiday immediately!

Dubrovnik is top of my list for areas within Croatia I would like to visit. However, Plivitize Lakes and some of the smaller islands look beautiful too. My ideal trip would involve hiring car and driving north to south. Then potentially continuing to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. I would love to kayak as much as possible too. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy the stunning Croatian coastal scenery or the turquoise waters of the Adriatic. However, my 2019 travel calendar is jam packed which means no time for Croatia in the near future. Therefore 2020 will have to be the year I finally get myself to Westeros! Have any of you ever visited or road tripped around this area of the world? If not, have these breathtaking pictures of Croatia convinced you to go?
