I’ve been avoiding writing my ‘about’ page for such a long time now… why is it so awkward/ difficult to talk about yourself?! But I figured it’s about time I get to it so here goes. My name is Jenny and I am a 22 year old woman/ traveller/ feminist/ creative/ bookworm/ vegetarian/ Leo in the midst of what I think is safe to say a quarter life crisis…
Welcome to my blog!
So you may be wondering what the reasoning is behind said quarter life crisis? Basically, I am not sure what I want to do with my life post university, post gap year. However, one thing I do know is I love to travel and eat. So that’s where Local Leo comes in. I am a hobby blogger, enjoy making friends on the internet with similar interests and love to share my experiences with whoever wants to read them. I also love that when I am old and forgetful I will have this wealth of information on my younger self to look back at (is it possible to feel nostalgic about your future self looking back on your current self because I think I do!).
On Local Leo you will be able to find travel inspiration, advice for travellers, travel experiences and recipes as well as a few other life related posts thrown in the mix.
There is still so much of the world I would like to see but these are the countries I have managed to squeeze in so far:
A bit more about me…
I am a citizen of the beautiful little country of New Zealand although I grew up in England with my sister, kiwi mother and Austrian/English father, making me a bit of a mutt! I speak English (obviously!), decent German and school girl French but would love to be fluent in all three. In 2015 I moved to Salzburg, Austria to study one semester of my degree with Erasmus. I graduated in 2017 and since then have been escaping the realities of life in New Zealand and South East Asia! I have varied interests and hobbies outside of travel and food which include trad climbing, weaving (I studied textiles at university!), ethical and sustainable skincare and obviously blogging.
Feel free to join me on my journey by signing up for my bi-monthly newsletter (on the side bar) and if there is anything else you’d like to know just ask! Alternatively, you can direct message me on Instagram for a faster response.
